Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat various problems with the shoulder joint. It involves the use of a small camera called an arthroscope, which is inserted through tiny incisions in the shoulder and allows the surgeon to visualize the inside of the joint on a monitor and perform necessary repairs or treatments, thereby restoring optimal shoulder function.
It offers several advantages, such as smaller incisions, less tissue damage, reduced postoperative pain, and a quicker recovery when compared to traditional open surgery. However, like any surgical procedure, there are potential risks, including infection, bleeding, nerve damage, stiffness, and the possibility of re-surgery in some cases.
Mr. Jaafar Yaquoob Ali from Bahrain successfully underwent Shoulder Arthroscopy at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. Manoj Chakravorthy, Consultant Orthopedic Joint Replacement & Arthroscopic Surgeon.
