The incidence of multiple fractures due to accidents is high and often requires surgery for treatment. Based on the severity of the fractures, two types of surgeries can be performed; Internal fixation and external fixation.
Internal fixation is performed when the fractures are complicated and require the support of metal rods or screws, followed by an external cast to keep the bone immobilized. But external fixation is performed in cases with less severity and requires the support of a metal frame that supports the bone and keeps it from moving.
After surgery, patients need to undergo a period of rehabilitation to regain strength, range of motion, and function in the affected bone. This may involve physical therapy, occupational therapy, or other forms of rehabilitation.
Mr. B. Srinivas Murthy from Guntur successfully underwent surgery to repair multiple fractures at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. Kirthi Paladugu, Sr. Consultant Arthroscopy Surgeon, Knee & Shoulder (Sports Medicine), Navigation & Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon (FIJR Germany), Minimally Invasive Trauma, and Foot & Ankle Surgeon.
