Infections of the lungs can be brought on by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or parasites. It occurs when infectious microbes damage and inflames the lungs.
Pneumonia is a lung condition in which the air sacs of one or both lungs swell. The air sacs may be liquid or pus-filled, resulting in shortness of breath, a fever, chills, and a cough that produces mucus.
In prone ventilation, the patient is placed in an upside-down position while being connected to mechanical ventilation. Despite the fact that there are other factors at work, the decreased lung compression and the enhanced lung perfusion significantly contribute to the higher oxygenation that happens during prone breathing.
The patient’s condition began to improve after a week, and he recovered in about 10 days. Different breathing exercises and strategies are taught to the patient. The doctor ordered antibiotics and advised the patient not to miss any follow-up appointments.
Mr. K. Madhusudhan Reddy from Hyderabad, underwent treatment for Pneumonia with the help of Prone Ventilation, under the supervision of Dr. Gopi Krishna Yedlapati, Consultant Interventional Pulmonologist, Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad.
