“WE INSPIRE” Cancer Survivors Support Group and “I Am Unstoppable” book Launch from Yashoda Hospitals

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, Mr. VishnuVardhan Reddy, Special Secretary of Industries & Commerce and IT, Govt. of Telangana, along with Dr. G. S. Rao, Managing Director, and Dr. Pavan, Director of Yashoda Hospitals, have launched two new initiatives.

“WE INSPIRE” is the first-of-its-kind cancer survivor support group, offering physical and moral support to newly diagnosed patients. Participants can discuss challenges, share solutions related to cancer diagnosis and treatment, and offer handy coping tips for managing treatment and its side effects. Importantly, the group instills hope and motivation in newly diagnosed patients, a crucial aspect of their journey. Additionally, plans for Cancer Survivor Clinics are underway.

“I AM UNSTOPPABLE” is a book aimed at providing support to all cancer patients with the mission of ensuring no one faces cancer alone. It features inspiring stories of patients who have triumphed over cancer, as well as information on the latest medical technology, emotional well-being, integrative oncology, and more.

“Millions of cancer patients die each year due to lack of preventive measures and wrong lifestyle choices. Especially concerning cancer, this book is a boon. It is excellent for both reading and reference purposes. You are much more than your disease. With the right mindset, a strong support system, and a dedicated oncology team, ‘CAN’ and ‘WILL’ emerge stronger than you ever thought possible,” remarked Mr. VishnuVardhan Reddy, Secretary of Industries & Commerce and IT, Telangana.

“‘I Am Unstoppable’ is a holistic resource for all cancer-related information. It beautifully captures the emotions, determination, and familial support necessary to overcome and survive cancer, showcasing the inspiring stories of some patients treated at Yashoda Hospitals. As a doctor, I am acutely aware that discussing cancer can be difficult, but this book aims to help overcome the stigma surrounding the disease and offer hope to those facing it,” said Dr. G. S. Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals.

“With current advances in medical technology, we can conquer cancer. Highly complicated surgeries can be performed with laparoscopic and robotic techniques, ensuring excellent cosmetic results and minimal deformity. Advanced radiation therapies such as MR LINAC, Rapidarc, IGRT, IMRT, and Cyber/Gamma Knife offer improved accuracy and precision with minimal side effects. Personalized medicine and genetic markers allow tailored treatment plans,” explained Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director, of the Yashoda Hospitals group.

“Having treated cancer patients for over a decade, I’ve witnessed incredible inspiration in each patient’s journey. Their resilience is truly commendable, facing hardships on physical, emotional, and financial fronts. Here are eleven awe-inspiring stories of our warriors’ strength and determination. We believe these initiatives will serve as the ultimate survival guide, offering wisdom, guidance, and boundless inspiration,” commented Dr. Sachin Marda, Senior Oncologist, Robotic Cancer Surgeon, and Clinical Director, at Yashoda Hospitals.

The launching program saw participation from numerous cancer survivors, oncologists, doctors, paramedical staff, and prominent city personalities, making it a grand success.
