Yashoda Hospitals & Tata Consultancy Services Organized Mega 5K “Run for Health” to Promote Heart Health Awareness

Yashoda Hospitals, in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), organized a highly successful 5K “Run for Health” event today. The mega run aimed to raise awareness among working professionals, particularly those in the software industry, about the importance of maintaining heart health through regular exercise.

The event witnessed an impressive turnout of over 5000 participants, including TCS associates, their family members, and the dedicated team of healthcare professionals from Yashoda Hospitals. The run commenced at Yashoda Hospitals Hitech City and culminated at IKEA Hyderabad, covering a distance of 5 kilometers.

On stage, Mr. Rajanna, President of TCS, along with Dr. G. S. Rao, MD of Yashoda Hospitals, and Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, addressed the gathering with a message stressing the importance of prioritizing health, with a special emphasis on heart care. They highlighted the benefits of incorporating daily walks and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, for a happy and healthy heart.

Dr. G. S. Rao emphasized the significance of incorporating exercise into daily routines to combat the negative impact of unhealthy lifestyles on heart health. “Regular exercise not only enhances physical health but also promotes mental well-being, serving as one of the best stress busters,” stated Dr. Rao during the inauguration of the event.

Mr. Rajanna highlighted the detrimental effects of addictive substances such as tobacco and alcohol on overall health, particularly among youth and working professionals. He underscored the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and engaging in regular physical activity to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.

Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals and a seasoned marathon runner, stressed the importance of exercising under the guidance of qualified professionals. “It is essential to seek medical advice before starting any exercise regimen. Individuals should aim for 150 to 300 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes of vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity each week,” remarked Dr. Gorukanti.

The “TCS & Yashoda Hospitals” Mega 5K “Run for Health” received overwhelming participation and support from the community, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of heart health among professionals. The event served as a platform to promote healthy lifestyles and encourage individuals to prioritize their well-being.
