What is Pilonidal Sinus?
Pilonidal cyst surgery is performed by a dermatologist or a general physician on the sacs around the hair follicles in the lower back region at the tailbone to cure pilonidal cysts formed in the sacs. This surgery is recommended for patients who have reoccurring pain and swelling in the tailbone region, foul-smelling pus-like discharge, and painful lumps under the skin, which are common in mountain climbers and cyclists.
