Preparation:

• The surgeon performs anal examinations to locate the fissure

During the procedure:

• Take prescribed antibiotics, painkillers, and stool softeners to prevent infection, reduce discomfort, and ease bowel movements.
• Take warm sitz baths (sitting in the warm water without adding salt or soap) for 10-15 minutes to ease anal pain & discomfort in the anal region.
• Stay hydrated by drinking adequate water to prevent constipation or straining while passing stools.
• Follow the dietary recommendations, such as fiber-rich foods, including fruits, vegetables, & whole grains, & avoid eating spicy foods.
• Refrain from straining yourself sitting on the toilet for too long.
