What is Humerus Plating Surgery?
Humerus plating surgery is an orthopedic procedure used to treat upper arm fractures that cause pain, swelling, and limited mobility in the shoulder, elbow, or arm. Humerus Plating Surgery: Pre-Op & Post-Op Care
Preparation for Humerus Plating
Imaging tests, such as X-rays, CT, or MRI scans, are performed to evaluate the fracture and properly plan the procedure. Additionally, the patient is asked to refrain from taking any medications that could interfere with the procedure, such as blood thinners, and is instructed to fast for a few hours.
During the Surgery
Once in the procedure room, you will be administered general anesthesia to reduce the likelihood of experiencing pain during the procedure.
