Patient Testimonial for Micro Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Testimonial by Mr. Debasish Debnath

Micro Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove the gallbladder. It is typically performed to treat conditions such as gallstones, gallbladder inflammation (cholecystitis), or gallbladder polyps. Unlike traditional laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which uses larger instruments, micro laparoscopic cholecystectomy involves the use of smaller, specialized instruments, resulting in smaller incisions and less postoperative pain. During the procedure, the surgeon makes several tiny incisions in the abdomen through which a camera and micro-sized instruments are inserted to visualize and remove the gallbladder.

This procedure offers several advantages over traditional laparoscopic cholecystectomy, including reduced postoperative pain, smaller incisions with minimal scarring, shorter recovery time, and potentially faster return to normal activities. However, like any surgical procedure, there are risks and potential complications, including bleeding, infection, injury to surrounding structures, bile duct injury, or bile leakage. It is essential for patients to discuss the benefits and risks of the procedure with their healthcare provider to make informed decisions about their treatment options.

Mr. Debasish Debnath from Tripura successfully underwent Micro Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. M. Manisegaran, Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist-Minimal Access Surgery, Bariatric, Metabolic & Robotic Surgery.
