What is a Trigger Finger Release Surgery?
Trigger finger release surgery, or thumb trigger finger release or trigger thumb release, is a surgical procedure that aims to release the pulley mechanism present in the hand that blocks the tendon movement so the tendon, which is responsible for flexing, can now move easily through the tendon sheath.
Who needs Trigger Finger Treatment
It is recommended for patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis or who don’t get healed with a non-surgical approach like medication therapy. There are four types of trigger finger surgeries, namely open surgery, percutaneous release surgery, tenosynovectomy, and trigger finger treatment dressing.

Trigger Finger Treatment: Pre-Op & Post-Op Care
Pre-Surgical Preparations: The surgeon will consult with you about the risks, benefits, and other options for the surgery, take a thorough past medical history, ask for any present prescriptions, and later administer local anaesthesia.
Procedure: The surgeon makes an incision over the affected area of the tendon sheath around the knuckle to allow the blocked tendon to move freely.
Post-Surgical & Recovery Phase: It’s a minor surgery that allows the patient to go back to their daily routine within 1 to 2 days post-surgery and probably takes about 4-5 weeks to fully recover.
