What is Frenuloplasty Surgery?
Frenuloplasty of the prepuce of the penis is a variation of a surgical procedure known as circumcision, which lengthens the frenulum to alleviate pain and permit a greater range of motion between the interconnected tissues (the head of the penis and the underside of the penis). Infants, children, and adults—especially those facing difficulties achieving a full erection; men experiencing severe pain, discomfort, and bleeding during sexual activity; uncircumcised men who feel discomfort due to a tight foreskin; and individuals born with a shorter frenulum—are ideal candidates for frenuloplasty surgery.
There are only four types of frenuloplasty: conventional, functional, laser, and traditional.

Frenuloplasty: Pre-Op & Post-Op Care
Pre-Surgical Preparations: The surgeon will provide the patient with a set of instructions in order to prepare them for their surgery, including pre-surgical blood and urine tests, the number of days to fast before the procedure, and whether to take the old set of prescriptions or begin a new set.
Procedure: Depending on the patient’s preference, the surgery may be performed either as an outpatient treatment or as a daycare procedure. The surgeon makes a horizontal incision in one direction and applies the sutures longitudinally in the opposite direction to facilitate the stretching of the frenulum.
Post-Surgical & Recovery Phase: The post-surgical situation is where the patient is kept in observation with a light dressing over the penis, and the surgeon will accompany them with some pain relievers. After waking up, the patients are expected to take a leak and are relieved to go home. For full recovery, rest for 24 hours after reaching home and take the prescribed set of medications. The stitches will drop off after 2 weeks, and the overall frenuloplasty recovery time is four weeks.
