Join the fight against Cancer – Yashoda Cancer Awareness 5K Run – 2018

 

On the occasion of World Cancer day, Yashoda Group Hospitals organized Yashoda Cancer Awareness 5K Run on Feb 4, 2018. Saroornagar stadium, LB Nagar, Hyderabad witnessed the 5K run with an active participation of 6000+ runners.

Doctors and health care professionals advocated fight against cancer by suggesting mindfulness and on-time medical and lifestyle choices.

Hyderabad youth, film personalities, doctors, and government officials took it on themselves to be a part of the event. Students from colleges across the city actively participated in the Yashoda Cancer Awareness 5K run.

Mr. Dheeraj, CEO, Yashoda Hospitals Group, addressed the gathering and shared his concerns regarding cancer. He highlighted how exposure to pesticide, tobacco (cigarette smoking), environmental pollutants, plastic and/or unhealthy food is major cancer threat.

He further elaborated on how Yashoda Hospitals Group is making a difference in the fight against Cancer. Mr. Dheeraj informed, “We are organizing separate cancer mobile detection centers offering subsidized cancer screening for women of age 40 years and above and men of age 50 years and above.”

Also addressing the gathering were Dr. G Abhinav, Director International Marketing Yashoda Hospitals Group and Dr G Vijaykumar, COO of Yashoda Hospitals Group.

Dr. Abhinav mentioned how the fight against cancer is now strong with advanced medical tools and team of doctors in India. ” He added, “ With awareness and regular cancer screenings we all can fight cancer together”.

Dr. Rachana, Yashoda Hospitals Group, geared the runners for the 5k feat with a pre-run workout. The workout session included 7 stretching exercises focused on muscles in the core, back and legs. Soon after, enthusiastic runners took pride to run from the stadium up to Kothapet and return.

‘Beware and Act ’ is our mantra to fight cancer. Healthy lifestyle choices and regular cancer checks will better enable us to prevent, cure, care and manage cancer.
