Yashoda Hospitals Facilitated 50+ Kidney Donors at Hitec City

Yashoda Hospitals facilitated over 50 kidney donors at the Hitec City unit on the occasion of the up-coming World Kidney Day on March 9, 2023.

Hyderabad, March 4, 2023: “India today has a huge kidney disease burden, with 17% of the population having chronic kidney disease. An estimated five lakh people reach the dialysis stage every year. No country can afford this burden. The only way to address this issue is to create and increase awareness about kidney disease in the community,” said eminent nephrologist in our country Padmabhushan Dr. M. K. Mani on the occasion of Yashoda Hospital’s facilitation of 50+ kidney donors at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City, on the occasion of World Kidney Day coming on March 9, 2023.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajasekhar Chakravarthy, consultant nephrologist and clinical director and HOD of nephrology and transplant specialist, said, “Screening for kidney disease regularly in high risk people is very much essential and is the need of the hour. For this purpose, every year the second Thursday of March is observed as World Kidney Day. This year, it is coming on March 9. In this connection, in Yashoda hospitals, Hitec City, today we are felicitating 50+ kidney donors who donated their kidney for their family members.” People suffering from diabetes and hypertension must be very careful about kidney diseases, and in particular health screening for all is must.
