Occipitocervical fusion (OCF) is a spinal fusion technique indicated for the treatment of instability at the craniocervical junction. This surgical procedure aligns and stabilises the cervical spine and helps to correct instability at the junction of the spine and skull, commonly caused by spinal tumours and/or spinal trauma.
OCF helps to effectively treat craniovertebral junction (CVJ) anomalies that may occur due to various causes, such as congenital, traumatic, degenerative, inflammatory, infective, or neoplastic.
