Welcome to the 4 Annual Hands-on Workshop on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia (UGRA) at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad. The use of ultrasound has revolutionised regional anaesthesia because we can now visualise the targets and dangers and deliver the medication in a precise and accurate manner.

Our workshop caters to anaesthesiologists with limited experience or success with UGRA.

Our goal is to impart this state-of-the-art skill set to you, so your patients can benefit from optimal care. We will achieve this by having the following:

• Skilled faculty with a combined experience of over 10,000 procedures
• Volunteers to teach essential probe skills
• Animal models and mannequins to teach essential needling skills
• Trouble shooting skills for scanning image recognition and needle visualisation
• Maximum audience participation with realistic hands-on practice and low participant faculty ratio
• 4 weeks post workshop email support for questions

Workshop Goals

• Increase participants’ confidence in using ultrasound by learning to recognize targets and by learning to manipulate the needle safely en route to the targets
• Increase participants’ confidence in performing high yield upper and lower extremity blocks in a safe and effective manner
