Unlike a traditional ambulance and treatment, the Stroke Care on Wheels unit is well equipped and staffed by team members specifically trained to diagnose strokes. They can provide medicinal treatment, such as the clot-busting treatment, for certain kinds of strokes before the patients even reach the hospital. The sooner a stroke victim receives treatment, the greater will be their chances of survival and recovery.

The Stroke Care on Wheels will bring the resources of an emergency room directly to the stroke victim’s driveway. The fully equipped van includes critical components to improve stroke outcomes and to significantly reduce the time from the onset of symptoms to the delivery of care.
