PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of the school
of focuses on Nursing is formal education preparation,
which is based on education principles. We recognize
it as the foundation on which the practice of
Nursing is built and on which further professional
education depends. At the same time we believe
that we have the responsibility to the student
and to the society to make provision in the
programme for the continued development of the
student as an individual, citizen as well as
nurse.
Faculty School of Nursing believes
that the education is a life long process and
we strive to seek for the overall development
of the student in both personally and professionally.
Faculty School believes that the
staff from Institution will be competent as
a beside nurse, nurse educator and capable administrator.
OBJECTIVE:
After completion of General Nursing
and Midwifery training, the trained nurse will
be able to
1. Assess health status, identity
nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate
nursing care.
2. Demonstrate competency in the skills and
techniques of Nursing.
3. Participate as members of health team in
the promotive and restorative health.
4. Practice ethical values in their personal
and professional life.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
1. Application frorms for admission
and prospectus are to be obtained by the candidates
on payment of Rs. 150/-
2. Candidate should submit the application from
duly filled in within the prescribed time with
necessary documents.
a) Attested copy of S.S.C. Certificate
b) Attested copies of H.S.C. or Intermediate
showing statement of marks obtained.
c) Attested copy of Bonafide Certificate
d) Attested of Conduct Certificate.
e) Attested copy of T.C.
f) Attested copy of Migration.
g) Physical fitness certificate
h) 4 copies of recent passport size photographs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Intermediate or 10+2 preferably
with Science subjects with aggregate of 45%,
single/married/divorce/widow with out encumbrances.
Age-17 to 35 years are eligible.
Upper age limit relaxable by three years for
S.C. & S.T.
SELECTION:
Each application will be scrutinized
by selection committee. Merit will be the basis
for preliminary selection. Provisionally selected
candidates are called for an interviews at their
expenses. The date and place of the interview
will be intimated to the candidates.
Nursing Schools
The Nursing Schools offers various courses at
different levels and trains nurses who serve
in hospitals all over India and abroad. The
General Nursing programme is a 3-year Diploma
Course conducted by Govt. of AP. Over the years
the school has students passing out with 100%
results keeping in tradition with Yashoda Quality
and Care.
Nursing
Compassionate and well-trained nurses are the
backbone of a successful medical team. Recognizing
this, Yashoda has set up an in house Nurse Training
College that inculcates efficiency, sensitivity
and courtesy within the trainees.
Little wonder that the nurses
at Yashoda are well trained and equipped to
handle situations ranging from emergencies to
minor ailments. They are the epitome of care
and comfort to ensure speedy recovery to patients.
The nursing school has 60 seats
for admission and it's a 3-year Diploma Course
conducted by Govt. of AP. Over the years the
school has students passing out with 100% results
keeping in tradition with Yashoda Quality and
Care.
NURSING SCHOOLS:
AIMS AND PURPOSE OF THE
COURSE
1. To prepare the nurse to serve
the sick with love, affection and compassion.
2. The purpose of General Nursing programme
is to:
a) Provide the necessary knowledge training
and practical skill in nursing care to the patient
in all types of illness.
b) Train and help the nurse to work in mutual
co-operation with other medical and paramedical
staff.
c) Teach the nurse the various programmes for
prevention of disease and promotion of a healthy
community.
General Objective of the
course
The nurses completing the course
will be able to:
1) Demonstrate awareness of, and
skills required for the general nursing process
in the provision of health care and nursing
of patients.
2) Apply relevant knowledge from the humanities,
biological and behavioural sciences in carrying
out health care and nursing activities and functions.
3) Demonstrate skills in the use of problem
solving methods in nursing practice.
4) Gain knowledge of health resources in the
community and the country.
5) Demonstrate understanding of commitment to
professional behaviors.
6) Promotion of health, precaution against illness,
restoration of health and rehabilitation.
Admission to the school
and duration of the course
1. Admission is open to candidates
from all the parts of India.
Preference will however be given to local candidates,
who meet the basic requirements.
2. The duration of course is 3
years plus internship for two years. The candidates
will be required to sign an understanding to
do the internship for two years on completion
of the course successfully. They must also give
a bond (in case of minor, father/guardian) to
work in Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital for
one year after internship, during which period
of bond an honorarium of stipend per month will
be given.
3. The prospectus and the application form may
be obtained from the principal, Yashoda School
of Nursing, Yashoda super specialty hospital,
Malakpet, Nalgonda X Roads, Hyderabad –
500 036, on payment of Rs.100/- by cross demand
draft in favor of Yashoda School OF nursing,
Hyderabad and enclosing a self addressed envelop
(stamp for Rs.5/-) of size 25 cm * 12 cms.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. The minimum education qualification required
is a pass in intermediate exam or its equivalent
preferably with science subjects.
2. Un married/Divorced or widows without encumbrances
between the age of 17 to 24 years are eligible.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years in the
case of SC & ST candidates.
3. Physical fitness is essential and in support
of that a certificate from registered medical
practitioner is to be enclosed with application.
a) Intermediate pass certificate or its equivalent
(10+2)
b) The memorandum of marks obtained in intermediate
or its equivalent examination.
c) Conduct certificate from the principal of
the college last attended (nit later than 6
months).
d) Certificate of any other educational qualification.
e) Certificate of physical fitness from a Registered
medical practitioner.
f) Four copies of recent passport size photographs.
g) If the candidates belongs to a schedule caste/schedule
tribe a certificate issued by MRO or Gazetted
officer.
h) Migration certificate.
NB: Original certificates should
not be sent along with application form. Receipt
of an application form does not imply acceptance
of the candidate for admission.
SELECTION: The selection committee
will scrutinize each application. Performance
in the intermediate examination will be the
basis for preliminary selection. Provisionally
selected candidates are called for an interview
at their expenses. The date and place of the
interview will be intimated to the candidates
by post. Criteria for selection will be based
on
n Marks obtained in the entrance examination
n Higher qualifications, if any
n Health status of the candidates
n Personal interview,
n Guidelines prescribed by Director, Medical
Education.
Student Mess: the student mess
will be provided with accommodation by the management.
The student will engage the mess staff procure
materials and the entire management of the mess
will be done by a Management Committee, elected
from the student of various classes and interns,
chaired by the principal or senior tutor. The
members will share the expenses of the mess
equally.
The mess management committee
will be responsible for the upkeep of mess and
to take care of the mess property, kitchen equipments,
and the entire arrangement of the mess. Loss
or any damage, of any items will be made good
by the committee, and the costs charged to the
members. Charges for electricity and water supply
of the mess will be borne by the members.
PRACTICAL TRAINING
PRACTICAL TRAINING IN Yashoda
Super Specialty Hospital during the entire 3
years of study in the school is an integral
part of the general nursing courses and it is
obligatory for each student to maintain a neat
record of the nursing procedures viz. bed making
and care of different types of units, care and
cleaning procedures, comfort devices, positions,
procedures, collection and reporting of samples,
diet, enemas hot and cold application, artificial
feeding, community health, bandages and binders,
medications care of babies etc.
The sister in charge in the respective wards
will observe the work of the student nurses
and guide them to acquire adequate skill. The
principal will draw up the schedule forward
assignment for practical training. The student
nurses will be responsible to get the procedures
registers signed by the wards-in-charge in due
time and submit them periodically for inspection.

13. Navy blue sweater to be worn when they are
on duty during winter.
COURSE OUT LINE AND RECOGNITIONS
Syllabus and the general course
outline as prescribed by the Indian Nursing
Council will be followed in the school. Any
changes notified by them will be incorporated
immediately for compliance. Specialist in the
field will give classroom and clinical instructions
and doctors lecture in various specialties will
be given by specialist in the field.
EXAMINATIONS.
At the end of every year there will be a state
board examination. 25% of marks are allotted
for internal assessment.

EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATES
There will be three public examinations
conducted by Boards of examination, Government
of Andhra Pradesh. Each examination will be
held after the completion of 12 months study
and clinical practice.
The school conducts selection
examination one month before the common board
examination and those who pass in this selection
examinations only will be allowed to appear
for the common board examinations. The minimum
marks required for passing any examination in
nursing is 50%. No candidate is allowed to appear
for examinations, if her attendance is less
than 80%. The percentage of classroom and clinical
attendance, general conduct of the student and
the performance in the clinical area are taken
into consideration of the selection examination.
PRELIMINARY TRAINING PERIOD
The first three months of training
is called preliminary training period at the
end of which there will be an examination and
the successful candidates will receive their
uniform and continue their studies. The failed
candidates are given second and if they are
found unfit, they will not be allowed to continue
their studies. If a candidate discontinues her
studies after the preliminary training period,
the fees will not be returned to the candidates.
VACATION
Students are eligible for one-month
(30 days) annual leave. The principal will notify
the exact dates.
SPECIAL LEAVE
1. Leave is granted at the discretion of the
principal in case of serious illness or unforeseen/
unavoidable circumstances.
2. Leave for festivals, wedding etc. will not
be granted, as it will dislocate the teaching
schedule of the school.
SICK LEAVE
1. Student are allowed to avail
ten days sick leave per annum only on medical
grounds, if needed, which has to be certified
by the doctor of the Yashoda Super Specialty
Hospital.
2. Any leave granted over and above this, has
to be made up by the student during the course
of the same academic year.
GENERAL & HOSTEL RULES
1. Mess fees should be paid
before 10 th of each month.
2. Local candidates and others who have guardians
in local area are allowed to visit once a month
with permission.
3. Shopping is allowed once a month in groups
with prior permission.
4. Visitors are discouraged and not permitted
in the rooms. Visitors are allowed only on 2nd
Saturdays with the permission of the warden
between 4 to 6 pm.
5. The principal will prescribe dress regulations
in the schools and hospital premises.
6. Students will be responsible for the safety
of their personal belongings, which have to
be kept locked.
7. All the students must obey the rules of the
school and hospital.
8. Valuables are not allowed to be worn by the
students in the classes or in the hospital.
9. Students are not allowed to remain in the
hostel during classes or clinical training without
permission.
10. All fees must be paid and NOC got before
going for exams.
11. Any serious misconduct will be severely
dealt.
12. The student must maintain good conduct and
give respect to the staff, hospital, school
and hostel management.
