OF NURSING
The philosophy of the College of Nursing is
consistent of Nursing is consistent with the
NTR University of Health Sciences. The college
philosophy focuses on the nature of the person,
environment, health, profession of nursing and
the process of education.
Faculty of College of Nursing
believes that the “Person” is a
unique and continuously evolving being. Each
person has the right to participate in making
decisions which affect health and the accept
or refuse health care.
Health is viewed as a dynamic
state arising from continuous changes from wellness
to illness and from illness to wellness. Promotion,
maintenance and restoration of health is viewed
as a complex phenomenon and involves the joint
responsibility of individual and health care
providers.
The faculty of College of Nursing
views that a variety of economic, education
and professional trends are fuelling the demand
for nurses with advanced degrees. The rapidly
changing health care system requires nurses
to possess increasing knowledge, clinical competency,
greater Independent autonomy in clinical judgments
and increasingly sophisticated technologies
are raising the education needs of nurses.
The faculty of College of Nursing
believes that nursing is an integral and unique
part of the health care delivery system and
share equal responsibility for the attainment
of optimal health for all member of the society.
The faculty of College of Nursing
believes that nursing is diagnosis and treatment
of actual or potential health problems. It involves
preventive interventions. The goal of nursing
is to promote health, prevent illness, restore
and maintain optimum health.
The faculty of College of Nursing
believes that education is a life long process
and we strive to seek for the overall development
of the students is both personally and professionally.
The faculty of College of Nursing
believes that graduate nurses from this institution
will render high quality care to individuals,
families and communities and also cater to the
health care needs i.e. locally, nationally and
also internationally. The graduate nurse from
this institution will be complement as a bedside
nurse, nurse education able administrator and
a beginning researcher.
OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of B.Sc. Nursing
degree programme the graduate are expected to:
1. Assessment health status, identity
nursing needs, plan implement and evaluate nursing
care.
2. Demonstrate competency in the skills and
techniques of Nursing.
3. Participate as members of health team in
the promotive, preventive and restorative health
care.
4. Demonstrate skills in teaching, management
,interpersonal relations and communications.
5. Practical ethical values in their personal
and professional life.
ELIGBILITY FOR
ADMISSION:
1. Age limit for admission: Candidate
should have complete 17 years and should not
be more than 25 years as on 31st December of
the year of admission.
Note: Upper age limit shall be relaxed by 3
years in case of SC & ST candidates
2. Sex: Should be women.
3. Educational Qualifications:
(i) Should have passed Intermediate Examination
(10+2) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as
optional subject or Intermediate Vocational
(Nursing) Examination, Andhra Pradesh or any
Examination recognized as equivalent.
(ii) Should have secured not less than 50% of
marks in optional of the Intermediate Examination
or equivalent examinations.
4. Duration of the Course: Diuration of B.Sc.
(N) degree programme is for a period of 4 academic
years.
5. Commencement of the course: The course shall
ordinarily commence from 10th Novemeber of the
academic year.
6. Medium of Instruction & Examination:
English shall be the medium of Instruction and
Examination.
7. Working Days in the Academic year: Academic
year shall have not less than 220 working days
excluding vacation, university examination and
public holidays.
